~ Holiday Spritz Cookies ~

Spritz are rich buttery cookies that can be formed
Into a variety of shapes using a cookie press.

1-1/2 cups butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Colored sugar

Beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high
Speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and baking powder.
Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extract until combined.
Beat in as much flour as you can.
Using a wooden spoon, stir in remaining flour.
